Individual Therapy with Nanae

Are you struggling with feeling like you don’t know who you are or where you belong? Is it near impossible to know what you want and say what you need? Are you often bursting into tears, numbed out, stuffing everything down, very angry and lashing out, or get startled really easily? As a somatic and intuitive therapist, I provide virtual therapy for adults in Colorado who are ready to reconnect their mind with their body, and heal, grow, and build a soul-aligned life with more confidence and emotional balance.

Life can be overwhelming, and navigating stress, relationships, and personal challenges alone can feel isolating. Therapy provides a safe, supportive space to explore thoughts, emotions, and experiences.

I specialize in:

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Trauma, grief, and loss

  • Family & relationship challenges

  • Self-esteem and confidence

  • Codependency and friendship challenges

  • Spiritual trauma and confusion

  • Boundaries and people-pleasing

  • Life transitions and feeling stuck

If you're looking for a therapist who understands the challenges of feeling disconnected from themself and their body, let’s connect. Click below to schedule a free 30-minute consultation and see if we’re a good fit!

How are you arriving?

You’re so, so angry

No matter how hard you try to just “let it go” and “see the positive.”

You’d rather die

It’s crossed your mind once, maybe even a hundred times.

You’re overwhelmed

Your mind spins uncontrollably with all the tiny details.

You feel so alone

You just can’t relate to the people around you.

You've lost track of yourself.
Let's guide you back to your soul.

How I Approach Therapy

The crises are piling up one on top of the other, your mind is spiraling, your body is breaking down, and you can’t seem to catch a break. These all mean something. I help you decode these critical messages from the Universe so you can gain clarity, understanding, and relief!

You know how your problems keep following you even if you move away, quit, or break up?

Using intuition and Source-channeled tools, we’ll get to the true emotional root cause of your problems so you can get on with living your life.

This work is not for the uncommitted. It’s not for people who are looking for an easy fix. The transformation is not done overnight. It takes courage to look at your wounds head on and decide you want something different for yourself.

I’d be honored to be your guide.

Take it from me, someone who used to be deeply traumatized and unhappy for years. Intuition and knowing how the Universe really works has transformed how I view myself. I’m remembering who I am, more and more every day. I want that for you, too.

As you radically shift the relationship you have with yourself, you’ll notice the world change to meet you.

The version of you that’s always existed.

It’s you, remembering who you are.

Session fees

I am out-of-network with insurance providers, which means I do not accept insurance directly, and session fees are out-of-pocket.

Fee is $225 for meetings 1 to 2 times a month.

Fee is $200 for meetings 3 or more times a month.

Check your insurance plan’s Out of Network (OON) mental health benefits. Some plans, if approved, will offer reimbursement for sessions you pay out of pocket for.

If requested, I provide a superbill (like an invoice) at the end of every month that you will turn in manually or online to your insurance plan.

FAQ’s

  • Book your free 30 minute consultation call here!

  • We’ll hop on a Google Meets video or talk on the phone. I’ll probably ask you a couple questions to find out more about why you’re seeking therapy at this point in your life. We’re both getting a feel for each other to see if we’ll be a good fit.

If you have questions about my other offerings, you can ask them at that time, too.

If we decide to move forward with working together, we’ll find a date and time for our first session that works well for both of us.

  • After the consultation call and if we decided to move forward with working together, I will send you a link from Therapy Portal to create your online profile. In there, you’ll find a several documents to sign and complete before our first session. Please make sure to complete them at least 24 hours in advance of our first session so I have time to review them.

In the meantime, if you have any questions that come up, you can feel free to email me at nanae@kokokaratherapy.com.

  • It’ll depend on how you feel when you arrive to the session. If you have a pressing matter, then we can look into it. Otherwise, I’ll start by assessing your various nervous system states and how aware you are of your body and its reactions. This may take place over 1 to 3 sessions or so, depending on how you take in the information. Knowing what’s going on with your body can help your brain get on board with therapy!

This helps us establish a solid foundation for our work moving forward, including processing traumatic moments or deep-rooted negative beliefs about yourself.

  • Rescheduling

If you need to reschedule, I require at least a 24 hour notice via text or email.

If you reach out with less than 24 hours before our session, I will charge the full fee of your session even if you don’t attend the session.

If you reach out outside of the 24 hour window, we’ll find a time that works for both of us to reschedule.

    Cancelations

For therapy sessions, I have a no cancelation policy. At the beginning of our work, we’ll determine how often to meet (weekly, bi-weekly, once a month, etc.). Once that is established, it helps your progress by remaining consistent and sticking to a set schedule. Meeting regularly also helps me remember the details of your situation and come up with tailored solutions for you. At any time, we can adjust the frequency of the sessions to fit your needs.

If you change your session frequency from weekly to monthly during the summer, for example, I cannot guarantee that the same time slot will be available once fall comes around and you’re ready to start weekly sessions again.

If you reach out to me and need to cancel a session and you’re unable to reschedule, you will still be charged the full session fee in order to hold your time slot.

You can read more about the policy here.

  • How long you’re in therapy will be dependent on a number of things like the issues you want to work through, what else you have going on in your life, your finances, etc. Generally most people feel like they can either reduce sessions significantly or end sessions completely at around the 8 to 12 month mark.

  • Yes! I’m using my intuition all the time. During therapy sessions, I may at times ask if I can pull in helpful information. For the majority of the session, I will guide you to have realizations by talking through the situation at hand.

If you wan to know what an intuitive healing session will look like, please take a look at the last item on this drop down list.

  • I am always using my intuition and connecting to my client’s energy to get them the support they need, however, I will not do energetic healing or clearing practices. Check out my Intuitive Healing page for more information on how I offer healing and clearing. These therapy sessions are for people who want longer-term consistent support to talk through the major issues they’re up against right now in life.

  • I’ve determined my current fee very intentionally in order to: sustain a smaller caseload to increase the quality of one-on-one care I’m able to provide, receive regularly scheduled consultation and supervision, purchase and take top-quality continuing education to enhance my therapeutic skills, and be able to cover my business and personal expenses. Because of this, I’m unable to subsidize my rate at this time for new clients.

I’m listed as a Lotus Therapy Fund provider, a grant program run by the Asian Mental Health Collective. If you’re selected to receive eight free sessions through the Fund, please schedule a consultation call with me so we can get started!

Please check out this list I’ve put together for other low- to no-cost mental health resources here.

  • Comfort Be settled in your own space with the things around you that offer comfort (blanket, hot tea, photograph, or even your supportive animal).

Flexible Meet me from your vehicle, a family member’s house during breaks and holidays, or when you’re not able to leave your place due to illness or pain. No need to battle the traffic to get to an office or look for a parking spot.

Time to Prepare With time saved, take a few moments before our session to notice how you’re feeling, jot down topics you don’t want to forget, or eat something!

Your Setup Sessions go well when you set aside time and space where you’ll be undisturbed, is private, and you have solid internet connection.

  • All sessions are conducted virtually at this time. I reside in the state of Colorado in the USA.

  • My current availability is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday between 10am - 5pm MST.

  • Good Faith Estimates and the No Surprises Act – Effective January 1, 2022

As of January 1, 2022, all health care providers are required to provide a good faith estimate to any person who is receiving services, and who is not using insurance or doesn’t have insurance for those services.

Important Points of This Law and How it Affects You When Working With Kokokara Therapy, Inc.

The No Surprises Act was created to avoid consumers receiving a “surprise” bill from an out of network provider, when they thought the services they were receiving would be covered by their in-network insurance benefits. It is intended to make it easier to understand all that you will be billed.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

In the Good Faith Estimate we will now be providing you with, we are expected to include a diagnosis, the services we recommend, the frequency of those services, and an estimate of the total cost.

It is important for you to know that this is a little difficult in mental health for many reasons, including the following:

    • It can take some time to fully understand the appropriate diagnosis for a person;

    • Sometimes people choose to work with a therapist when there isn’t an appropriate diagnosis at all;

    • Every person approaches personal work in their own unique way and while it can take one person a very short time to reach their goal, it may take another a much longer time.

Because of this, and if you choose to go ahead with working with Nanae, your good faith estimate for your initial session will be the cost of that session only.

Once you and your therapist meet, your therapist will understand more about you and your situation, and will be able to provide an updated good faith estimate.

Your good faith estimate can be reviewed at any time upon your request, and your therapist may also initiate a review of your estimate if necessary.  This estimate could go up or down as a result of many factors including your life circumstances changing, how quickly you are making progress towards your therapy goals, additional information about your mental health becoming better understood as a result of your therapy work, or as a part of reviewing your therapy goals.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the Colorado Division of Insurance at 303-894-7490 or 1-800-930-3745.
